School RegistrationSchool registration is now open for the 2012-2013 Washington State Future City Regional Competition. The deadline for school registration is October 15, 2012. This is a school based competition for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. The school registration fee is $25.00. We need a minimum of 25 registered schools to qualify as a "Regional Competition" and be able to send the winning team on to Washington D.C. for the National Finals. We are currently waiving the $25.00 fee until we reach the 25 registered school threshold. After we have the 25 required schools, the normal $25.00 registration fee will apply. Follow the link below, for on-line registration (opens in a new window). Select "Washington" state and click "submit". Select "other" for "method of payment" if you are one of the first 25 schools to register. The following competition materials will be mailed to you as soon as they are available (August 2012):
If you experience any difficulty with the registration system, please contact our Teacher/School Coordinator, describe what happened, and let him know that you want to register your school for the competition. Contact our Regional Coordinator if you are a Puget Sound area teacher or school administrator and are interested in having some local committee members come to you and give a presentation about the Future City Competition. Homeschools are encouraged to register for the Future City Competition. A homeschool affidavit form must be completed and sent back to the Regional Coordinator in order for the homeschool to participate.
